Additional information

A bespoke fuel injection characterisation rig was designed, manufactured and commissioned to investigate the hydraulic effects of advanced fuel injection strategies. In this study the effect of split injection on the actual fuel injection quantity, diesel combustion and emissions was investigated in an optical single cylinder HSDI diesel engine. The test rig was developed as part of a project sponsored by Delphi Diesel System and is currently being used for detailed investigation of advanced fuel injection strategies in diesel engines.
