• Proposed a novel low power class-AB log-domain balanced IFLF wavelet transform circuit for detecting QRS complexes of cardiac signals of implantable pacemakers.

• First time-domain approximation of the first derivative of Gaussian wavelet using a hybrid particle swarm optimization algorithm combined with sequential quadratic programming, overcoming serious stability and accuracy problems of existing approximation techniques

• Led to new collaboration with Hunan University and Beijing Jiaotong University on wavelet transform and biomedical systems.

• Recognised by leading research centres at Imperial College, Patras University and Washington University.
