Additional information

- Derives for the first time a fundamental solution for Mindlin plate theory with damping in the Laplace domain, and used to model the nonlinear response of shear deformable plates under dynamic loads with damping.

- Major advantages of this mesh free technique in computations are; simplicity, accuracy, and efficiency. The accuracy and convergence of the proposed method are demonstrated through numerical examples in comparison with analytical solutions.

- Supported by EPSRC iCASE and Airbus UK Ltd and is valuable to academia and industry to optimise machining processes. Results are contributing to Airbus aircraft manufacturing processes (Dr WeiMIng Sim: WeiMing.Sim@Airbus.com).
