<17> New Music Research is 5th ranked journal in Visual Performing Arts (SCImago). First paper comparing searching for media items in databases of substantially different scales (from the small, curated collection to the large, industry catalogue) and how the practical issues arising from these needs can be addressed by reusing the statistical model for similarity previously derived in connection with adapting hash bucket sizes in probabilistic indexing. The software described (audioDB, http://www.omras2.org/audiodb) underpinned the mHAshup at SIGGRAPH 2008, a partnership with Artists Without a Label (AWAL), providing user interaction and visualization of 48,000 tracks for an Apple iTunes feeder service.
