This book is the third of a series, Oxford Studies on the Roman Economy (Series Editors A.K.Bowman, A.I.Wilson), that publishes research conducted by the Oxford Roman Economy Project (PIs Bowman and Wilson). Bowman co-wrote the introduction and wrote Chapter 7. He played a major role in the editing of the other 8 chapters and indexed the whole volume. Three chapters were written or co-written by early-career researchers whom he mentored or supervised within the project: Marzano and Malouta (post-doctoral RAs).
