Additional information

The paper demonstrates a new technique for increasing the separation between the radiating elements of an array antenna to 2λ. This is achieved by placing the array within a Fabry–Pérot cavity having AMC sidewalls. The technique also yields slightly increased directivity along with reduced side-lobe level. The technique provides useful insight for anyone designing array antennas. The technique has potential for use in applications requiring compact high gain antennas.
