Additional information

This paper presents an ultra-wideband monopole antenna incorporating a band-stop filter (or notch band) embedded within the radiating element. This suppresses interference from strong narrowband radiators in the local area. The innovative notch band resonator can easily be redesigned for operation at a different frequency. It is also possible to produce multiple notch bands. The idea is cheap to implement and could find use in consumer electronics devices designed to transfer large amounts of data over short distances.
