Additional information
The proposed spectrum sensing signal processing technique can form a highly accurate decision of spectrum availability for signal to noise ratio as low as -22 dB, while existing techniques can offer similar sensing performance for signal to noise ratio higher than -5 dB. The proposed technique only has high sensitivity to very weak interference, and can equip cognitive radios with significantly enhanced cognitive and communication reliability. Part of this work has been granted a national and international patent, and the proposed technique has been implemented in the CCSR WAPR2 testbed.
