Additional information

The work provides an approach to distribute processing tasks between the different nodes in wireless sensor networks. The technique improves the operation efficiency and energy use within these networks and optimises the lifetime of such networks by balancing the processing and communication tasks between the nodes. By optimising energy consumption through intelligent task distribution, the lifetime of wireless sensor networks can be extended by up to 30%. The technique has been mapped to optimise the processing and mechanisms within the core network. Significant energy savings have been shown in wireless sensor networks and potentially in the core network as well.
