Additional information
This examines the use of a diode-clamped multi-level converter in industrial applications, investigating ways to compensate for non-linearities in the switching behaviour. This allows compensation for the non-linearities introduced by switching behaviour within multi-level switching converters, producing more accurate control of the output voltages. The results and hardware developed for this paper led directly to an industrially sponsored PhD study with Rolls-Royce on the use of Multilevel converters for aircraft starter generators, and has formed the basis of 3 other papers in the field derived from this work.
