This paper presented a novel dual output approach to standard resonant converters, becoming the first publication in the field, and has led to further research on resonant converters, through EPSRC studentships and a number of other publications. The work led to the investigators being asked to join an industry forum on resonant converters including Bang and Olufsson (Contact: Søren Kjærulff Christensen - SKN@bang-olufsen.dk) and Philips Research Laboratories, with Sheffield as the only non-industrial member of the forum. The forum addressed the development and influence of practice within the industry.
