Additional information

Paper describes novel model to predict full stress-strain behaviour of fibre-reinforced soils under undrained conditions. Model uncovers new "stolen void ratio" mechanism that prevents static liquefaction of loose granular soils. Work was presented at Fifth International Symposium on Deformation Characteristics of Geomaterials (Seoul, S. Korea, 2011). Of 362 submissions, paper was one of only 20 full papers finally accepted after full peer-review to appear in special issue. Additionally, based on this work, editor proposed Diambra for Young Researcher award of Japanese Geotechnical Society, for which he was one of three finalists.
