Additional information

This is a volume co-edited by Mays with Neil Matheson (internal; Art and Design), and includes both a single-authored chapter (‘From the Premodern to the Postmodern: Mnemotechnics and the Ghost of “the Folk”’), pp. 180-201, and a co-authored introduction (‘Technologies, Spiritualisms and Modernities’), pp. 1-15. The book represents the culmination of the research project ‘Spiritualism and Technology in Historical and Contemporary Contexts’, which was supported by an Arts and Humanities Research Council award, under the Beyond Text scheme for Networks and Workshops (2009-10), and for which Mays was Principal Investigator.
