Double-weighted statement

This book develops a complex central thesis that seeks for the first time to provide a methodology for full critical analysis of draft materials, then applies that theory in a series of case studies (in this sense it is almost “two books in one”). It was written over a seven year period and involved extensive manuscript research at archives in the UK and America (The Jerwood Centre, The Wordsworth Trust; Trinity College Cambridge; The Houghton Library, Harvard; Amherst College). This research was funded by an AHRC Innovation Award in 2003-04. It has been reviewed in ten international journals to date.
