Additional information

<15> This continues the work of Output 1; with secondary data from the UK Marine Accident Investigation Bureau (MAIB), and primary data from UK fishing skippers. The study analysed the MAIB’s reasons for accidents to fishing vessels. It showed that IEMS need to be much more flexible to users’ needs and data representation needs to be much clearer and understandable. It confirmed that multiple screens allowed better understanding and removed the need for screen switching. Its significance is that it shows that IEMS could play a more active role in accident prevention should the design of users’ interactions be improved.
