Additional information
In this paper, the development of nanowires (capable of functionalization to detect bio-molecules) is reported. Such devices offer the opportunity to make bio-sensors with an intrinsic electrical detection method at low cost. This technology has since been extended to produce highly sensitive hydrogen gas sensors that exhibit more than double the sensitivity of carbon nanotube based sensors and flexible substrates.
