Additional information

This research studied virtual and mixed reality meetings to consider how they are affected by space and context. As part of this work, we developed the methodology of 'Research by Design' . We set briefs based on theoretical and practical interests, then co-designed interventions to explore these issues and reflect on the design outcomes. At the time of publication this was the only paper which used mobile devices to create a portal between the real world and a metaverse. The paper has been downloaded 258 times from the ACM Digital Library. It has resulted in follow on research on the AHRC project 'Touching the Past' where a mixed reality space was created of 5500 year old Skara Brae.
