This paper presents a new method to evaluate how much wind generation can be relied on when the electricity distribution system is under the worst stress. The work presents the first understanding of wind-generation security at the distribution level and defines how that security will change with differing locations and conditions of the network. The work identifies limitations in current practice in the electricity distribution industry and proposes how these limitations can be overcome.
