Additional information

This is the first published study on the effects of pressure-induced deformation during dynamic air flow on the permeability of technical textiles. By characterising experimentally the textile deformation and incorporating this into an accurate analytical model, differences between static and dynamic permeability are predicted accurately. This allows the behaviour of vehicle airbags, subject to transient high pressure, to be understood.
