Additional information

This paper pioneers probabilistic stability analysis of power systems to consider the stochastic variation of grid-connected wind power generation. This work is part of an international collaborative project supported by the EPSRC, involving 5 UK and 11 leading Chinese universities (5 years, £1.0m). Further study based on the paper has led to a second paper accepted recently by the IEEE Transaction on Power Systems (S Q Bu, W Du, H F Wang, ‘Probabilistic analysis of small-signal rotor angle/voltage stability of large-scale AC/DC power systems as affected by grid-connected offshore wind generation).
