<23> This paper describes a state-of-the-art re-localisation algorithm for vision based Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM). The paper and the expertise it represents has formed the basis of two commercial license agreements with Applied Science Laboratories., USA [Contact: Product Manager, see audit file] and Samsung (S. Korea [Contact:Vice President, Fundamental Technology Team, see audit file]). The paper also led to large collaborative projects funded by EPSRC/TSB (ViewNet, DT/F006489, £734K plus £716K (2008-2010) from Thales, ST, Toshiba and SMEs) and EU FP7 (Cognito, FP7-ICT-248290-COGNITO, EUR 3232k), working with DFKI (Germany), CNRS (France), Leeds (UK), Trivisio (Germany), CCG (Portugal), SmartFactory (Germany), 2009-12).
