Experimental Assessment of a Modal-Based Multi-Parameter Method for Locating Damage in Composite Laminates
- Provides a new damage location technique for composite laminate panels used in the fuselage of modern aircraft.
- Demonstrates that damage severity in composite laminates can be assessed from the weighed changes in both the natural frequencies and the modal damping factors.
- Inspired the development of Modal Identification software – BETAlab – currently used both in the Technical University of Lisbon and University of Hertfordshire.
