Double-weighted statement

This book included the collation of a vast quantity of new data (which accumulated since the last - partial – treatment of the topic in the early 1900s), and a re-analysis of extensive known data, e.g. Latin and Greek inscriptions on stone monuments, quarried blocks and columns, ingots, bronze tablets, papyri, and ostraca, along with literary and legal texts. Research for the book spanned from 2000 to 2007, and was supported by a range of funding sources (e.g. the Swiss National Fund, and the Overseas Research Award Scheme).
