The paper derived fundamental performance limits for smaller sized cells that can benefit the decision makers and designers for the deployment of future cellular systems using the futuristic "coordinated multipoint" technology. The work was funded, steered and used by leading industrial partners like Vodafone, NSN, Huawei under the elective programme of Mobile Virtual Centre of Excellence.
