Double-weighted statement

This monograph is a 474-page, expanded (+100%) version of a doctoral thesis (2005–2008), demanding interdisciplinary analysis and extensive new primary research into epigraphy, sociolinguistics, archaeology and history. This included archival research in Lyon (2007) for the creation of a database of Greek inscriptions, and subsequent work in Southern France, with numerous site and museum visits and complex archival research at the Service régional d’archéologie (Aix) and the Hôtel de Sade (Saint-Rémy). Permissions to access unpublished material and publish the results and images required effort over several years.
