Double-weighted statement

Bent 2008 is the result of 35 years’ study of a fifteenth-century manuscript, much of which required digital enhancement and/or restoration. The facsimile is prefaced by a 383-page essay that provides a history of the manuscript, its structure and chronology, the circumstances surrounding its various re-copyings and revisions, and an overview of the nature, style, and reception of its 328 compositions. It meets panel criteria for double-weighting in terms of the analysis of an exceptionally large body of material, the use of primary sources which were especially difficult to access, and research based on a lengthy period of data collection.
