Additional information

This paper describes novel techniques for constructing high rise buildings of up to 25 stories and which avoid use of full hot rolled steel frames thus improving economy. The paper draws on work undertaken within EU projects by the authors, and collaborations between them and various modular buildings providers including Unite. These collaborations resulted in various high rise student accommodation buildings being constructed in the UK, and in the US organisations such as the American Institute of Architects are promoting the research. The paper has been developed into a book for John Wiley currently in press.
