The paper was the featured cover article for this issue of the journal.The algorithm has prompted positive commentary from other leading research groups (e.g. Moller, J. Theor. Biol. 305:118-130,2012, ; Hoinville et al., Biomimetic and Biohybrid Systems, LNCS 7375:120-131). It has also led to collaboration with Barbara Webb’s group in Edinburgh resulting in further publications (e.g. Wystrach et al. J Exp Biol jeb.082941, 2013). It led to an invited presentation at the 2013 Neuroethology Gordon Research Conference with images from the paper used to publicise the conference.
