The author led the D0 Higgs Physics Group (numbering over 80 people) during this period. A critical component of the analysis in this paper is the identification of the b-quarks coming from the top quark decay. Under the author's guidance the group was responsible for developing the neural network based b-tagging used in the analysis and indeed for all D0 publications; this was the first multivariate b-tagger used at a hadron collider.
