Graham was invited by the editor, Anna Dezeuze (who has worked at Smithsonian Institute, Sotheby's Institute of Art, and Musée d'Art Moderne, Lille) to write a book chapter to address a lack of critical typology in the field of participatory art for inclusion in the book The 'Do-it-Yourself' Artwork: Participation from Fluxus to New Media, Manchester University Press, Manchester, pp. 281-305 (ISBN 978 07190 8144 6). The chapter examines how systems/models from new media, including distributed and Open Source can inform participative art.

Graham’s chapter is 8,000 word with 4 illustrations in a hardback and paperback book (Produced as a paperback in 2012). Other chapters include international writers on contemporary art: Claire Bishop, Miwon Kwon, Christian Kravagna, Armauld Pierre, and Judith Rodenbeck.
