Multiple Pitch Estimation Using Non-Homogeneous Poisson Processes
This paper is one of the main end products of a highly successful and influential EPSRC project in computer understanding of musical signals. It fuses powerful point process modelling ideas that have come across from projects in the object tracking area, where such models are used by the authors for clutter/multiple object detections from radar. The work has been the topic of an invited conference presentation at ISBA (International Society for Bayesian Analysis) in Australia (2008) http://old.bayesian.org/events/isba2008/index.shtml. It has also led to a research grant RG66698 with GOOGLE (USD200k) on processing of audio streams.
