Double-weighted statement

This book is the first substantive treatment in either English or French of the Neolithic of this crucial area of northwest Europe. The author has worked through a mass of detailed information and combined an extensive review of the antiquarian literature with the results of fieldwork undertaken over an eight-year period. It offers a novel interpretation of the origins of monumentality based on first hand research, drawing upon both British and French research traditions, directly supported by intensive palaeoenvironmental work on megalithic landscapes in the Channel Islands funded by the AHRC 2007-2011.
