Additional information

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and Home Office commissioned Wootton to investigate the crime prevention design advice services offered by police forces across England and Wales, and the possible formation of a National Police Crime Prevention Service (NPCPS). Wootton led an in-depth evaluation of 42 police forces, which included: an online survey that achieved an 80% response rate; the analysis of 4,500 minutes of transcribed audio from 43 focus groups; an audit of work diaries; and individual interviews. This was the first study of its kind, resulting in a report to ACPO with recommendations for action.
