MIMO is one of the critical technologies needed for next generation wireless communication. For the first time, MIMO antennas based on the multiple feeds of dielectric resonator antennas and their channel characteristics are reported in this paper. Dielectric resonator based MIMO antennas give the communication industry a new choice of compact antennas. The technology developed has been communicated to both Sony Ericsson and TDK (contact details available) for practical applications and product development.
