Additional information

<06> This paper proposed a group-based location service protocol named GrLS for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). GrLS is the first location service protocol which has exploited group mobility to improve the protocol efficiency. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results show that GrLS can achieve a higher success ratio of location query and better load balance with much lower overhead than the existing protocols without considering group mobility. Our idea has been applied to support group mobility in mobile WiMAX networks and wireless sensor networks. Our method has been used to design a location service protocol for vehicular networks.
