Double-weighted statement

Six years were spent researching this monograph, which casts new light on the working methods of a canonical modern writer. Drawing on substantial manuscript findings from extended archive stays in Austria and Germany, it forms the most extensive study to date of Bachmann’s poetic drafts and their relation to her later prose. The monograph contains material from what would otherwise have been four outputs (two journal articles, two book chapters), but frames them within substantially new overarching readings. Peers have acknowledged the study as treating challenging and little-known primary sources, and as bridging the genre gap in much Bachmann scholarship.
