Additional information

This paper focuses attention on an effect that had been previously observed by other investigators, but had been given little attention. Namely that, increases in engine load sometimes results in increases in the minimum lubricating film thickness. This is not observed in conventional simulation models of ring-pack operation indicating that they are incomplete and that a significant effect is taking place which requires further study
