Additional information
This well cited paper describes details of the EU FP6 project MasMicro (NMP2-CT-2004-500095) on which Harrison took a leading role from 2004-2007. Its significance is that the Strathclyde press has been proved to operate at up to (and beyond) 1000/min which is two orders of magnitude faster than conventional press rates. This unique force-displacement programmable motion (rather than via mechanical linkages) press has been commercialised by (Tekniker, Spain) and has the further key advantage that speed and motion profiles can be devised for a particular material to optimise manufacturing considerations
