Additional information

A new model for treating colloid-water suspensions by Dissipative Particle Dynamics (DPD) has been advanced. The new model is rigorously constructed, taking full account of depleted interactions. Thermostatting, often ignored in the DPD community, is extensively discussed and advanced. This work was enabled through the EPSRC Keeping the Nuclear Option Open grant and has helped to leverage a EPSRC-NNL CASE studentship to study clogging in sand bed filters by colloids – a significant industrial problem requiring a solution.
