A plant-wide dynamic model of a continuous pharmaceutical process
The work relates to the development of a plant-wide dynamic model of the first integrated end-to-end continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing pilot plant developed at MIT. The model enabled the evaluation of different recycling and start-up strategies, which provided tools to design cost effective and environmentally friendly processes. The work opened up new opportunities to develop plant-wide control and Quality by Design strategies for the pilot plant. As a result, it contributed to the renewal of the Novartis-MIT project and gave me the opportunity to win the best contribution award within Novartis-MIT center for continuous manufacturing.
