Additional information

This well cited paper addresses the formation and in situ observation of junctions between ferromagnetic metal crystals and carbon nanotubes. Many applications of spintronics need spin transport through junctions between dissimilar materials, and this work inspired several other projects and collaborations, and lead to 12 further publications in Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Nano, Journal of Physical Chemistry C etc. The in situ microscopy in Oxford became a major theme in the successful £2.3M EPSRC analytical electron microcsope application (EP/K040375/1).
