Additional information

<21> This paper was an interdisciplinary collaboration with Swansea University (Welsh) and University of Indiana, Bloomington (Library and IS). This is only the second paper examining the use of Welsh on Twitter and the first to have surveyed a significant number of respondents.

Cunliffe presented the work at a European Expert Seminar, ‘Social Media and Lesser Used Languages’ funded by the Mercator Research Centre and Basque Government (2012). He featured as the Mercator Research Centre “Expert in the Spotlight”, December 2012. Requests for copies of this paper have been received from BBC Cymru Wales and the Welsh Language Commissioner’s office.
