Additional information

<21> This was the first study of the use of the Welsh language on Facebook and indeed the first study of a minority language on Facebook. The paper was the result of collaboration with the University of Indiana, Bloomington. It was featured in a story in the Western Mail.

It formed part of a programme of work looking at the use of Welsh in web2.0 which resulted in an invitation to join the Welsh Government’s “Welsh Language, Technology and Digital Media” advisory group (2012) and to present to the British-Irish Council Indigenous, Minority and Lesser-Used Languages Working Group (2010).
