Additional information

<29> This paper is a result of on-going collaboration with University of Nottingham and Ordnance Survey and draws on Ware’s expertise in spatial data conflation. An earlier version of this paper was presented at the GISRUK 2011 conference (where it won the best spatial analysis paper award), following which the authors received an invitation to submit the work to this special issue of TGIS. Its main research contribution is a new ontology-based methodology for using crowd sourced data to enriching authoritative spatial data.
