Reconfigurable tri-band H-shaped antenna with frequency selectivity feature for compact wireless communication systems
This paper presented a multiband antenna with a unique band selection capability. Single, dual and tri band modes are selected using a varactor diode. The use of multiple bands is important for future wireless systems where simultaneous connections with multiple wireless standards such as GPS, 3G and WLAN are required. This was the first time such design was presented that enabled this feature and the work was also presented in an invited talk at the ICEAA conference in Australia. This design helped to eliminate unwanted interfering harmonic signals due to multiple operating bands at the RF front end.
