Additional information

BIB has developed relationships with several universities in Brazil and in 2009 Dr Garrard was invited to present at a CCC Workshop in Rio de Janeiro. A research relationship with the University of Recife followed resulting in this publication.. It involves a study of the enzyme bromelain, extracted from the pineapple family. A consequence of this paper is that the main author (Thayse de Lima e Silva, ithalv@yahoo.com.br) has been awarded funding from the Brazilian Government for a 6 month visit to the UK to continue this work at BIB.
