Additional information

The silicon tracker is the heart of the CMS detector, used to study LHC collisions - the highest energy particle accelerator ever built. The LHC will allow the discovery of new processes and particles, answering some of the most fundamental questions about our Universe. The tracker plays a vital role in CMS measurements, including the recent discovery of the Higgs boson. I contributed low-level software for the data acquisition, without which it would not have been possible to operate the tracker or diagnose problems during this first pre-installation test run.
