Additional information

<23>A novel Spatio-Temporal Volume (STV) and region intersection (RI) based 3D shape-matching method has been developed to facilitate the rapid definition and recognition of human actions from live videos. Its theoretical breakthroughs had enabled online matching mechanisms being implemented into real-life CCTV systems, which led to collaboration with the State-run ShaanXi Digital Forensics Research Centre in China. The work was rooted in early investigations and prototypes published by the authors in the 15th International Conference on Automation and Computing in 2009, which won the only best-paper award out of 70 entries.
