<22>This paper extends the authors' previous work published as a short paper at ICAPS-2012. This work makes significant steps to alleviating a major problem with state of the art in "satisficing" planning engines: they tend to generate correct but over-long plans. It presents and evaluates an algorithm which determines specific redundant actions in plans which can be safely removed without compromising the correctness of generated plans. The approach presented in this paper is being used in a planning system under construction for the learning track of the International Planning Competition 2014. The acceptance rate for ICTAI-2012 was c.37%.
