The book was conceived by Nash, who invited the contributors and requested revisions to initial and subsequent drafts of all essays. He also worked with the CUP copy-editor, proof-read the volume and liaised with copyright holders. Nash is responsible for all editorial matter, including the Textual Note, Bibliography and Index.
